AWAKENING TO – ALL OF GOD’S WORD

Hebrews 12:11

No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.

Trained in the way of God’s Word. The Word of God proves to be the way, over and over again. I can attest to it in my own life. Whenever I am in the place of opposing words, thoughts, ideas and the like; just mentioning the following words puts things back in perspective for me:

“What does the word of God say about it?”

This simple question brings so much clarity to me, as the words that I have drowned myself in for some years now start to resurface. We can get so fogged by the world and it’s way but as soon as we shift our gaze to acknowledge God, He is right there ready to provide His wisdom.

It doesn’t take much to draw from the well of God. His word is clear, it means what it says and says what it means, whether it be literal, figuratively, metaphorically etc., the word of God has spoken. It brings such clarity and peace whenever it is received without reservation.

2 Timothy 3:16

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.

All of scripture can bless, encourage, instruct and direct our lives. There is not one Word in it that should be discarded. It’s the Source to life. It’s something that I desperately want to bounce around on the inside of me. The Word of God is so powerful, even in writing this blog I am convinced that I am not describing it with adequate words, or even as I should. The Word of God is as powerful as God Himself, because it is God. Literally. The Spirit of God is spewing out of God’s Word and the more we receive it correctly the more we are changed and molded into image bearers.

The discipline we receive by God’s Word is definite concerning our good. We are coheirs with Jesus Christ and should desire to share in everything He has. The Word produces right standing with God and right living. God wants to share everything with us and He does this as we draw near to Him

Hebrews 12:10 AMPC

For [our earthly fathers]

disciplined us for only a short period of time and chastised us as seemed

proper and good to them; but He disciplines us for our certain good, that we may become sharers in His own holiness.

Hebrews 12:13 AMPC

And cut through and make firm and plain and smooth, straight paths for your feet [yes, make them safe and upright and happy paths that go in the right direction], so that the lame and halting [limbs] may not be put out of joint, but rather may be cured.

We have more power than we believe we do concerning the direction our lives go. Hebrews 12:13 is instructing us to mold the path our feet will go. We can decide to walk on safe and upright paths, paths that heal and cure our lives and bodies from the inside out. We can choose the path that leads us to and in the right direction.

Hebrews 12:14 AMPC

Strive to live in peace with everybody and pursue that consecration and holiness without which no one will [ever] see the

Lord.

There is a healthy type of striving. There is a holiness that isn’t considered religious, but is needed, in order to see the Lord.

Hebrews 12:15 AMPC

Exercise foresight and be on the watch to look lafter one

another], to see that no one falls back from and fails to secure God’s

grace (His unmerited favor and spiritual blessing), in order that no root of resentment (rancor,

bitterness, or hatred) shoots forth and causes trouble and bitter

torment, and the many become contaminated and defiled by it-

I love the elaborate use of words in this version of scripture. It says to “Exercise foresight…”.

foresight:

fore· sight

: an act or the power of foreseeing : PRESCIENCE

: an act of looking forward

also : a view forward

foreseeing:

: to see (something, such as a development) beforehand

Foresight can be anticipated, it can be learned, it can be tapped into so that we might live our best lives before the Lord.

Hebrews 12:25 AMPC

So see to it that you do not reject Him or refuse to listen to and heed Him Who is speaking [to you now]. For if they [the Israelites] did not escape when they refused to listen and heed Him Who warned and divinely instructed them [here] on earth [revealing with heavenly warnings His will], how much less shall we escape if we reject and turn our backs on Him Who cautions and admonishes [us] from heaven?

The kingdom of God is the only thing that cannot be shaken. The Word of God remains true whether we choose to believe it or not. It can not be proved a lie and because of this it will never be moved.

Hebrews 12:28 AMPC

Let us therefore, receiving a kingdom that is firm and stable and cannot be shaken, offer to God pleasing service and acceptable worship, with modesty and pious care and godly fear and awe;

Hebrews 12:29 AMPC

For our God lis indeed] a consuming fire. [Deut. 4:24.]

consuming –

con· sum· ing

: deeply felt : ARDENT

a consuming interest

also : ENGROSSIN

The Word of God uses descriptive language, like “…a consuming fire.” Think about all that those words symbolize. The strength in them, what it takes to put it out and the impact of them and the impression they leave in the natural. Imagine those same words being applied the Almighty God? What do you think of when they are applied to the magnitude of His unlimited power?

AWAKENING TO – RELEASING AN OFFENSE

It’s okay to be offended, but it isn’t okay to stay offended.

Offense is tricky, it can creep in unannounced. It can also creep in as a feeling, uninvited. We can notice when it’s present and definitely know when it has left.

Offense, is unavoidable but also can be limited. We can limit our access to offense. We can reject the urge to stay offended. We can receive an offense, hold onto the feeling of the offense and choose when to let it go.

The longer we hold onto offense, is the longer it’ll hold onto us. Offense can linger, and offense knows when it hasn’t really been rejected. You can be offended by something, someone etc. and choose to not allow offense to affect you. You can be offended by something, someone, a scenario and the like; and decide that what you have going on, on the inside of you is too important, too precious, and too sweet to allow yourself to harbor any type of offense. Getting offended and harboring offense are two different things.

Consider offense as something that is very closely related to unforgiveness. Unforgiveness and choosing to remain offended both clog the flow of the grace of God on and in our lives.

It is important for us not to act like something never happened but it is also important for us to move past an offense for the sake of our own personal walk and encounter with God.

Things to note:

⁃ Processing is not choosing to remain offended. It’s an important part of grieving and an important part of our day. It is perfectly ok to process and reprocess events in life in order for you to better understand them and to evaluate them and your experience with them, appropriately.

⁃ Addressing something does not mean that you have chosen to remain offended. If a situation or circumstance needs to be addressed, this does not equate to you harboring an offense. Everything is no automatically resolved once you choose not to carry offense within you anymore. It’s important to know that revisiting a thing, person or place to address an offense does not mean that you have chosen to harbor this offense.

Offense is a tricky thing, but it can absolutely be resolved, released, processed and addressed in a healthy manner. You do not have to harbor an offense, no matter how much it may feel like you do or should.

AWAKENING TO – JESUS HAS ALWAYS BEEN

Jesus has always been and will always be the “but” and the “then” of our stories – which is why hope never exhausts

Jesus’s death, burial and resurrection has provided us eternal hope. We are now entitled to hope, forever.

Since the beginning of time, God has always provided a way out of our own ignorance, a way out of back sliding, a way out of separation from Him, and the like. He did this through substitutionary methods before sending His Son as the ultimate sacrifice, but these methods all pointed to that one moment of redemption.

Even when God’s people chose opposite of God’s option provided for their deliverance, God never left them without the option of it. God’s plan for our lives has always been redemption, and Jesus is living proof of this.

Because of Jesus and because of God’s mercy we are always allowed to believe for a “but” or a “then” in our own, personal stories.

God allows us to choose Christ, to choose miracles, to choose signs and to choose wonders. He allows us to choose His plan for our live which is good and perfect, it is pleasing and acceptable to Him. God’s ultimate plan for you and I has always been relationship with Him. What kind of God would He be if He knew we’d mess that up, but not provide us a means of reconciliation through the process? Answer: A God who would want us to fail.

But He isn’t like this, and that just isn’t His style.

God’s plan for you is hope. He has provided you with the surest way to this hope and all we have to do is choose it. Hope and eternal life is yours for the taking, if you choose it.

So don’t lose hope, Jesus has purchased your forever “but, God” and “then, God” on the cross over two thousand years ago and He has not reneged on the purchase.

AWAKENING TO – YOU WILL BE RENEWED

So I had a thought the other day. It wasn’t the most pleasant of thoughts and what came from the thought was the following scripture:

Romans 12:2

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

This scripture along with the following words rushed through my thoughts:

“You will be renewed!”

I think we can read this scripture and brush past the beauty in the promise of the scripture. You being renewed. God, practically promise’s renewal of our minds when we practice Romans 12:2.

⁃ We are not to conform, be fashioned according to, or to be an imitator of, one thing. When we choose to not, we then leave room for ourselves to become something else.

⁃ We are to, choose renewal, renewal in our minds, a complete change of our minds, choose to mature spiritually by focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes.

⁃ And in doing this we are to prove for ourselves, what the will of God is and discern for ourselves what is good, pleasing and the perfect will of God.

This scripture and these words served as a reminder to me in that moment, that I could choose and had the choices to choose from. It reminded me as I am reminding you today that the ball is in y|our court.

I know at times, the opposite thoughts can come rushing in like a flood. They can tempt you to believe that you are powerless or that you lack control, but this just isn’t true. There are several opportunities in every day where we get to choose renewal. We get to choose to get our minds to think the way they were always designed to. Whether we are aware of it or not we are always being programmed and reprogrammed on how to think, how to function and on how to be. Instead of being passive about this programming we are given the privilege of choosing God’s download(s) for our minds.

We get the option of the mind of Christ, if we choose it. We get the promise of a right and sober mind if we choose it. This world screams for your attention so that you do not give the right things or One your attention. Don’t let the world win, don’t let it win the war on your thoughts and the processing of these thoughts.

You have more power than you think, because you have the power to choose. You have the power to choose the voice of God and the Word of God as your focus, and as you do, the promise is that you will NOT remain the same. The promise is that you will be better than you were before making that choice. The promise is that you will be a discerner and know what is good, acceptable and perfect in Gods plan and purposes for you.

AWAKENING TO – THE GOSPEL

2 Corinthians 4:3-4

If the Good News we preach is hidden behind a veil, it is hidden only from people who are perishing. Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.

For the reader who is now a believer:

Could you imagine your life completely unaware, or closed off to the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Or, without the revelation of God’s love for you? Or, that the word in itself, defines Him?

When someone wonder’s why there is so much chaos and confusion in the world, do you? Or, do you know the exact force from which it comes from?

There are tons of people who do not know and are closed off to the revelation of God’s love for them, and the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

God loves you. Over the years, I have contemplated the vast, deep and wide love that God has for me. Through many seasons that, has been, what has kept me. Not that I’ve experienced much, but His ever present love has always been something that I could expect and count on. He is constant, even when I am not, He is present even in my distance. The more I contemplate His love; is the more I know who I am, the more I believe I am able, and the more I accept how worthy I am according to the thruth of His word over my life. I don’t always get it right but His word is true over my life.

Do you remember the first time you received the Good News of the gospel of Jesus Christ? Do you remember the first time you felt God’s tangible presence?

There are tons of people who are mentally and emotionally closed off to the thought and it isn’t because they can’t be open to it. It is because the enemy of their whole soul has blocked their minds from it. The knowingly and unknowingly result of a continual compliance and agreement with the thoughts and the assignment, and systems of satan.

The love story of God towards you is that He sent His One and Only Son, to die a death that He did not deserve so that, you could have a relationship with Him. He loves you so much that He would give up something to gain you, and that something was His only something. It wasn’t a spare It wasn’t an extra. It was His, Only. He loves you so much that He wage(s) and instructs war against the camp of satan to have your life. He loves you so much that He sent His Son to hell to retrieve the key of sin and death in order to win you over. There is NO ONE that loves you more than this.

2 Corinthians 4:6-7

For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ.

We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.

You are loved by God, THE God who sees and knows ALL things! The Gospel of Jesus Christ is FOR you! It is!

AWAKENING TO – BEING A WORLD CHANGER

Why do you think the enemy fights every blood bought believer so much? he fights for you to conform to the way of this world so that he can convince you that his way is normal. he wants to get you to not live a life that impacts or changes this world and to live a life that isn’t any different than the unbeliever.

he is a deceiver

he is the accuser of the brethren

he is the voice of lies

Ephesians 6:11

Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.

Revelation 12:10

Then I heard a loud voice shouting across the heavens, “It has come at last— salvation and power and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down to earth— the one who accuses them before our God day and night.

John 8:44

When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.

he fights for you to be contaminated with the stains of this world so that you do not hope to God for anything better. he wants you to believe that a life outside of God’s presence is what’s normal and that there really is no other way.

he wants you to believe that you’ve been blocked or prohibited from choosing another way.

Just think about it…

When the enemy suggest a thing to you, the suggestions goes from bad to worse, and he will never suggest the will of God to you.

Every lie that comes to your mind that is negative and self doubting is OF the enemy. I once recalled the testimony of a spiritual leader while on a cruise. He said that he heard the enemy tell him to “jump!” and his response to the enemy was so simple yet, so profound. He responded “Why?”.

In hopes that this is what actually happened, I also recall that the question he asked immediately silenced the voice of enemy. The suggestion went away. How powerful is that?

The enemy has a motive, he actually has several, but one of the biggest ways he tricks you into believing his lies is by getting you to somehow believe that his voice is normal, that his suggestions and intrusions into you mind is somehow the way life is supposed to go. he wants you to believe that being plagued with negative thoughts is everyone’s norm. he wants you to believe that your life is the way that it is and hope, deliverance, restoration, healing and the like is not an option for you.

he wants you to believe the lie that says you are somehow not worth saving, not worth coming to the rescue of, not worth the belief and not worth the pursuit. he wants you to believe that you are on your own, so he’ll try everything he can to isolate you and to keep you in a place of unbelief.

2 Corinthians 4:4

Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.

But, here goes my blog coming to remind you that you ARE in fact a world changer, you are not just anybody.

I want to remind you that the enemy will even use believers, knowingly and unknowingly, to try to stop you from your pursuit of God and your chase after Him, holiness and righteousness. I always have to preface a blog when talking about this topic by saying perfection is not righteousness and it is not holiness. We are not after perfection, we are after a deeper walk with Jesus.

Which He so desperately longs for with us. That He proved his longing for you through an unwanted, but willing death of the cross and resurrection from the grave, and accession into heaven; just to sit at the right hand of the Father, and intercede on your behalf, while awaiting His second coming. A relationship with you is what He is after.

AWAKENING TO – BEING DEFINED – BY YOUR TRUE DEFINITION

This world has so many different ways of defining and classifying others. And if you aren’t clear on who you are, you can knowingly or unknowingly let these distinctions mold who you’ll be.

definition:

def· i· ni· tion

1a: a statement of the meaning of a word or word group or a sign or symbol

b: a statement expressing the essential nature of something

c: a product of defining

But you are who God says you are.

God has a purpose for your existence, and we can go about believing in the definition, classifications and labels that this world gives out for one’s personhood,

for one’s livelihoods,

or for one’s living and existence;

or we can go about believing in God’s definition of who we are and God‘s plans and purposes over our lives.

It’s important for you to believe what God says about you and for you not to be so fixed or hung up on what this world has said about you and how this world chooses to define you.

When it comes to your life, there’s only one factual definition:

It isn’t a book that defines you

or a list of descriptions,

or the family you were born into,

or the vessels that God chose to procreate, and make you

vessel:

ves· sel

1a: a container (such as a cask, bottle, kettle, cup, or bowl) for holding something

b: a person into whom some quality (such as grace) is infused

When it comes to your life, there is only one definition, and there is only one Giver of that definition, because there is only one Maker of you.

God is the one who defines you God is the one who gives you your name.

God is the one who gives you your purpose.

God is the one who gives you your talents. You get your skills, your abilities and everything else about you from God. People don’t give you your purpose. People don’t give you your meaning for|to life or reason for existing. People can’t say who you’ll be or what you’ll amount to. No one gets to decide that. God breathed your definition to life the moment you were created. He called you by name in your mothers womb. Answer to that.

By God’s definition you are:

His prized possession –

James 1:8

Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

A thought to God before the beginning of time:

2 Timothy 1:9 AMP

for He delivered us and saved us and called us with a holy calling [a calling that leads to a consecrated life—a life set apart—a life of purpose], not because of our works [or because of any personal merit—we could do nothing to earn this], but because of His own purpose and grace [His amazing, undeserved favor] which was granted to us in Christ Jesus before the world began [eternal ages ago],

Redeemed into purpose:

Psalm 107:1-2

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. Has the LORD redeemed you? Then speak out! Tell others he has redeemed you from your enemies.

A masterpiece:

Ephesians 2:10

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

AWAKENING TO – A CONSCIENCE CAN BE RESTORED & PURGED

Romans 2:13-15

For merely listening to the law doesn’t make us right with God. It is obeying the law that makes us right in his sight. Even Gentiles, who do not have God’s written law, show that they know his law when they instinctively obey it, even without having heard it. They demonstrate that God’s law is written in their hearts, for their own conscience and thoughts either accuse them or tell them they are doing right.

conscience –

con· science

: the sense or consciousness of the moral goodness or blameworthiness of one’s own conduct, intentions, or character together with a feeling of obligation to do right or be good

Titus 1:15

Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure. But nothing is pure to those who are corrupt and unbelieving, because their minds and consciences are corrupted.

Prayer:

God make my heart pure.

1 Timothy 4:2

These people are hypocrites and liars, and their consciences are dead.

A weakened conscience is nothing to joke with, especially in this day and age.

Especially knowing that there will come a time described as these:

Matthew 24:22

In fact, unless that time of calamity is shortened, not a single person will survive. But it will be shortened for the sake of God’s chosen ones.

Or knowing that although God is gracious and merciful, He also does not plan to accompany us in the direction of what is wrong.

(Romans 1:24)

Maybe you are someone who from childhood had a solid conscience of right and wrong and somehow along the way you lost it.

Maybe you became a Christian and had to retrain your mind according to God’s word. And the things you thought were good and acceptable, weren’t once you got deeper in exploring the word of God and sitting under Biblical teaching and truth for yourself.

Maybe you were really tight knit in your relationship with God and somehow ended up backsliding in one area or another and just want to get back to where you were with Him.

Or maybe, you are believing to have an even deeper relationship with God. You’ve recognized the blind spots of the past and are desiring to fortify that relationship even more than it was before.

What is a conscience?

Conscience

CONSCIENCE (συνείδησις, G5287, to understand or become aware, to see completely, referring to moral consciousness). The Lat. form, conscientia, means “knowledge together with,” i.e., a second level of awareness accompanying awareness of an impulse, thought or act [RTWB]. The Scriptures view man in moral perspective. He is the creature who can and must answer to God for what he becomes. To assist him he has been given both capacity and inclination to judge his own behavior on the basis of a standard of right and wrong.

taken from biblegateway.com

Conscience gives you the ability to evaluate your own thoughts and desires, to discern what is right and wrong, and to distinguish between what is good and what is best.

taken from openbible.org

Acts 24:16

So I strive always to keep my conscience clear before God and man. NIV

Because of this, I always try to maintain a clear conscience before God and all people.

We live in a fallen and cruel world, so it is not abnormal for a conscience to become tainted or affected by this world.

Which is why informing one another about the hope of restoring a conscience is so important.

Psalm 119:11

I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

It starts with your desires

It starts with the longings of your heart

It starts with your persistence

It starts with your diligence

It starts with the posture of your heart

Hebrews 9:14

How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

It begins with you knowing that your conscience can be purged. It begins with you taking a step in the right direction. It begins with you wanting what God wants for you.

Hebrews 10:22

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

1 Timothy 1:5

The purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith.

Here is the reassurance that you might of needed in this moment. A clean conscience is God’s will for your life, in Christ Jesus.

I think at times we can even let the devil convince us that we are unworthy of what is good, and pure and pleasing. You are worthy of the right mind.

Hebrews 13:18

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Be an imitator of what is right and good. You will be rewarded for this, God does not change. He rewards those who diligently seek Him.

Romans 9:1

With Christ as my witness, I speak with utter truthfulness. My conscience and the Holy Spirit confirm it.

Your conscience is personal, and interacts with the Spirit of the living God uniquely. It’s important for you to know you, and for you to know Him. A strengthened conscience is confident in the Word of God and confident in what is true. It knows when to mourn, and exactly what to mourn about. It knows that the purposes of God is true (and will stand), and it knows the heart of God, and expects His mercy. It knows that all praises belongs to God and yearns to give Him all that He deserves.

1 Peter 3:21

And that water is a picture of baptism, which now saves you, not by removing dirt from your body, but as a response to God from a clean conscience. It is effective because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ

Doing what is good, and right, and pleasing and acceptable to God is not an easy thing, but it is rewarding. Sometimes we give the desire for reward a bad reputation, but if we are honest; a reward is a great motivator. Allow the reward of pursuing a clean conscience to be a motivator while you pursue God for the needed changes in you. Going to Him about our own stuff is humbling, but it refreshes when it is out in the open, before God. Confessing the not so good in us to receive what is good in Him, an exchange is what we are after.

1 John 2:27

But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true—it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ.

We get to revere Christ as Lord and in return we get to attain all that is His as our own.

The beauty and grandeur of this exchange isn’t even fair, but it is yours, and it is mine, if we choose it.

1 Corinthians 4:2

Now, a person who is put in charge as a manager must be faithful.

There is a nature for you and I to possess here on earth, it’s cost to obtain it but it means everything to have it. Working on your conscience and woking out your salvation daily is worth it. Proving myself faithful by what I pursue is a sure way to purge our lives. You and I have been given the responsibility of stewarding our lives here on earth and should make it count.

Romans 2:29

No, a true Jew is one whose heart is right with God. And true circumcision is not merely obeying the letter of the law; rather, it is a change of heart produced by the Spirit. And a person with a changed heart seeks praise from God, not from people.

AWAKENING TO – GOD’S LOVE AND THE ENEMY’S LIES

“he is the king of counterfeits, he is the king of manipulation, and lies.”

Let’s get into this statement a bit.

king of counterfeit

Gods word reminds us that every good and perfect gift comes from the Lord (James 1:7). God is a God of order, and He is intentional (See story of Creation or first 5 Books of the Bible). He’s intentional about your future, about your calling and about your life (Ephesians 2:10).

The enemy if he can will always try to convince you otherwise. he’ll try to convince you that God has forgotten about you, that God may be taking too long, that God is not for you and the like.

satan offered Eve a counterfeit way of living in the garden and she was deceived. he offered her the option of living in an ideal place without following the ideal way of God. Everything God teaches us to do is for our benefit, it is for our advancement, not for our demise (2 Timothy 2:16-17). The enemy will never agree to this truth over you and I and will try to deceive you into believing as He does, every chance he gets. (Genesis 3)

God said you can eat of every tree in the garden except that one, and the enemy said “don’t eat from those trees because, did God really say you can’t eat from this one?”

The way of the enemy will always be the counterfeit way. (John 8:44)

counterfeit

coun· ter· feit

: made in imitation of something else with intent to deceive

:insincere, feigned

: to make a fraudulent replica of

If you think practically about it, how could one physical tree ever produce more fruit than thousands. God does nothing small, so I’d like to use my imagination right now, to just envision the garden, and choose to believe that this wasn’t just any ‘ol garden. The first ever of it’s kind created, I want to assume that knowing His character, God went all out when designing the place they’d live.

he’ll, (as in the enemy) will surround you with all that is NOT of or from God so that he can get you to forget the promises of God over your life. Like he did with Eve, he’ll plague one, with the thought of what God said no to, so that you can forget all that God has already said yes to. he’ll convince you that your obedience to God is somehow causing you to miss out on all the other options, which are his, (the enemy’s) counterfeit.

(Something else to note:

Obedience to God is not code for “live a boring life” either.)

king of manipulation

I’m not sure if you’ve ever been manipulated before, made to believe that something was true when it really wasn’t. It may of been a prank or something like visiting the museum of illusion because of the way that something aligns or the way it is presented, you have all indications, and all implications, pointing to that thing being so real.

Nothing and no one can tell you that it isn’t what you think it is or the way you think it to be because you have been convinced that that thing is in mind, is truth.

You will never intentionally believe a lie. You will never intentionally call a lie the truth.

Much like the children of Israel, (See stories in Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy) who kept getting duped into believing and performing the act of idolatry. Again I’d like to use my imagination here. Do you remember the story of Pharaoh and the act of God wanting to free His people under the leadership of Moses? Moses would be instructed by God to perform a specific miracle in front of Pharoah and his entourage, and Pharaoh’s entourage of magicians etc. would then go on to produce the same said “miracles”, just with the enemy’s power. (Exodus 7)

The thing about God’s power and the enemy’s power is that the enemy’s power comes to an end and God being the actual Source of power, is unlimited. Just look around you, God can create resources, and channels of resources to display His infinite power while the enemy is allow and allotment of power, there is a huge difference between the two.

I want to imagine that in the years the children of Israel were trying to get Egypt out of themselves and their several attempts at idol worship; the flashy, the “miracle”, the charm and deception was being shown off in front of them was constant and ongoing. So much so, as to reel them back into worshiping what they were just brought out of worshiping. But God in His grace and mercy new their potential, is a keeper of His promises and people, and knew what He wanted to accomplish in and through them. (Jeremiah 29:11)

king of lies

I am convinced that if I tell the enemy that something is purple he will try to convince me that it is orange, and for no reason at all he will do this. he is a liar and the father of lies, it is impossible for him to tell the truth, it is completely opposite his nature.

So God, being the amazing Father and King that He is will tell you that you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), that you are made in His image (Genesis 1:27), that you are righteous (Corinthians 5:21), and loved with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3).

The enemy will come right behind Him (God), or beforehand to whisper lies to you. his motive is to get you to doubt the truth of God over you.

he’ll tell you things like:

you are really less than wonderful

he’ll remind you of every flaw you have, of your imperfections. he’ll tell you that your past disqualifies you from ever being righteous and tell you that God could never love someone like you.

This blog is here to remind you that God and the devil are polar opposites. The truth of God and the lies of the enemy will always be contrasting. The voice of God and the voice of the enemy will never sound alike. They will NEVER resemble each other.

Sometimes the enemy will creep in with the slightest difference, be reminded of this whenever you are tempted to believe it. Know God, and know His voice, it’s the best way to detect the difference.

AWAKENING TO – THE ENEMY’S WISH

The enemy’s wish for you is that God would be over and done with you.

The enemy would love for you to be as convinced as he, is that God is done with you. he fell from heaven and from that day till now, he became the enemy of the Kingdom of God. he as well as Jesus’ betrayer, Judas, didn’t completely have the revelation of the power of repentance for oneself.

Psalm 51:17

The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.

God will never despise your weakness or brokenness in front of Him. He is drawn to your humility.

You are God’s choice and He made you with communing in mind.

let us” = choice

Genesis 1:26

Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.”

com· mune

: to communicate intimately

2 Corinthians 6:16

And what union can there be between God’s temple and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God said: “I will live in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

The devil comes to kill, to steal and to destroy (John 10:10); and your relationship with God is not off of his radar. he is the king of counterfeits. he is the king of manipulation and lies. he is the king of trying his best to get you as disillusioned as possible about God’s thoughts towards you and the relationship that He desires with you.

Can you fathom the truth that God did not create you because He needed you?!

It’s true. God created you because He wanted you, not because He needed you. There is nothing He lacks, nothing He is missing.

Psalm 50:12

If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for all the world is mine and everything in it.

Signed, God.

So when He decided on your existence it wasn’t because you were needed by Him, it was because you were wanted by Him.

You’ve probably heard of this super popular marriage advice that says “don’t marry someone you can live with, marry someone you can’t live without.” And I get the notion of this statement, but I’d probably have to disagree. The thing about things you cannot live without, is that it leaves you with no other option, and not room to choose. Much like oxygen, we have no choice of whether or not we’ll breathe in oxygen, we need it to live. If one can’t live without someone it’s probably because that individual has something the other individual needs, like a breast-fed baby to their mom. They can’t do without her because she has what they need, but as they grow their options to choose her (their mom’s) presence and|or companionship grows also. They then receive more and more opportunities to choose her in the different situations and scenarios presented to them, not necessarily because what they need directly links to dependency and their choosing, but because they want her.

Can you imagine a God that created you with the option of choosing relationship with Him or not. The liberty that is in that thought alone is captivating. The fact that the God of the universe, the God who created you for a relational experience with Him, would then give you an option to choose Him is special to me. So that marriage saying would then be remixed into “don’t marry someone you can live with, marry someone you don’t WANT TO live without.”

Which is a reminder to us that God did not create humankind because He had to, He created you because He wanted to.

The two reasonings seem pretty meaningless, but can make all the differences.
